Terra Cotta Pot Candy Jars

Supplies:

  • 1 6” terra cotta pot
  • 1 6” terra cotta pot saucer
  • 1 4” terra cot pot saucer
  • 1 fish bowl style vase
  • 1 wooden knob or drawer pull
  • 1 2” wooden star
  • 1 button
  • Raffia or ribbon
  • Cork board
  • Paint
  • Tacky glue

Instructions:

  1. Using the top of the pot, trace a circle on the cork board and then cut out with a utility knife. Glue the cork board to the top of the pot and let dry completely. Once dry, turn the pot over so that the large end with the cork board is sitting on the table, this becomes the base of your candy jar.
  2. Paint the pot and two saucers your color of choice. This may take several coats.
  3. Paint the knob and the star whatever color you like! Let dry. Then glue the button to the star.
  4. With the larger saucer upright, glue the small saucer upside down inside the large saucer, creating the inside of the lid to the jar. Let dry completely.
  5. Glue the vase to the pot using a good amount of glue and let dry completely.
  6. Glue the knob to the bottom of the large saucer, thus finishing the lid.
  7. Glue the star to the front of your pot and tie the raffia around the middle, where the vase and pot are glued. Fill with candy, put on your lid and your candy jar is finished!
  8. ENJOY!!
